Hi, I’m Marissa!
After almost a decade and a half working in the world of digital marketing, I decided to make a change. I always considered myself a strong writer, which prompted me to earn my B.A. degree in journalism from the University of Dayton. I’ve been an avid reader for as long as I can remember, and I especially enjoy cozy mysteries and psychological thrillers.
Despite that, I never thought I would wind up writing a mystery novel of my own, but one day an idea popped into my head, and I started writing. I’m excited to say I’m nearly a published author! As part of my journey to self-publication, I began learning about all the phases a manuscript goes through before it gets in the hands of the reader—from editing, to design, to marketing, and beyond.
I was hooked. So I made the decision to change my career path from writer and marketing strategist to author and editorial assistant. Just A Good Book Publishing not only publishes my novels, but we also offer editing, marketing, design and coaching services for authors.
As part of my continuing education and commitment to providing the best service for my clients, I am enrolled in the UCLA Writers’ Program and am in the process of earning my Certificate in Editing and Publishing. I am also a member of the Editorial Freelancers Association.
Meet Nicolle!
Nicolle provides book cover and other design services for Just A Good Book Publishing. Together, we are a sister-duo who have teamed up to support authors across the many touch points in their journey to publication.
Nicolle is an experienced designer who will take great care to understand your story, your audience and your vision. Whether you know exactly what you want your book cover to look like or you need inspiration, she will create a design that will stand out.
In addition, Nicolle is an experienced social media manager and is able to provide you with the social media designs and other graphics you’ll need to market your novel.
